C. Scott Jortner is a Professional Engineer with 45 years of domestic and international oil industry experience with emphasis on drilling. He is also Technical Director of RL Skills, his own training company with Gerry Raabe. The last 17 years have been in well control. Previously, he was a Senior Engineering Advisor/Manager Engineering for Wild Well Control, performing response plans for clients worldwide. Scott was also a consulting drilling engineer for Newfield Exploration, drilling manager for Offshore Exploration Development Corporation, and a drilling engineer, drilling superintendent, and offshore drilling manager for Pennzoil Company. He is a professional registered engineer in the state of Texas, and a member of SPE. Scott earned an undergraduate degree in petroleum engineering from Louisiana State University.
