Mohammad A. Al-Ghouti is an associate professor in environmental chemistry at Qatar University. He obtained his PhD degree in environmental chemistry from the Queen’s University of Belfast, UK. He serves as undergraduate programs coordinator at the Biological and Environmental sciences. Dr. Al-Ghouti was successful in securing funding for 10 external competitive funds, six internal finds, and two industrial projects. Dr Al-Ghouti has supervised 14 MSc and 5 PhD students. The focus of Dr. Al-Ghouti’s research is to prepare and modify surface of adsorbents and membranes, study the adsorption mechanisms and study the remediation behaviour on various environmental compartments, including areas of environmental chemistry, membrane coating, membrane modification, controlling CaSO4 scaling and biofouling on reverse osmosis membrane, nanoparticles for water and wastewater treatment, multivariate, environmental remediation, waste minimization, and treatment. In total, he has authored or co-authored over 138 peer-reviewed research publications in environmental sciences and environmental sciences-related journals and over 55 research abstracts and posters. He has published two book chapters related to the field of environmental sciences. His current Google Scholar Citation h-index is 26; i10-index is 58.
